is yet another that’s part of , they are producers of award-winning wines. These vineyards were planted by the Goerler family back in 1981. That makes Jamesport Vineyards the oldest vineyard in the area.

Jamesport Vineyards has a total land area of about 60 acres, of which 48 acres have been planted. It also has an enlarged wine tasting room and a grassy backyard for large gatherings.

Though the barn is already more than 150 years old, Jamesport successfully integrated the secrets of wine making from the old world with contemporary techniques and technologies. These wines are being produced and bottled under strict supervision of the estate which assures us consumers of the highest quality possible.

The vineyard was planted a century and a half ago, but the winery itself was just established in 1986. It is expected to produce around 5,000 cases of wines of different kinds, such as , , , , and . Of course, the vineyard produces all its own grapes.

The majority of the planted land in Jamesport has Chardonnay, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Sauvignon Blanc. They also added other clones and varieties to the existing grape plantation.

Unlike other vineyards, Jamesport Vineyard pride themselves in using just their own home grown vines in making their wines. Truly, Jamesport is a real winery. Jamesport Vineyard continues its long practiced tradition of using their own high quality fruits only to ensure that the wine produced in only of the highest quality, too.

The fact the Jamesport Vineyards produces high quality fruits indeed, make them popular in both the local and foreign markets. In fact, a lot of wineries wish to procure their fruits as the special ingredients for their own wines.

It is certainly amazing to know that this Jamesport Vineyards is a father-son collaboration which began a few years before the winery had been formally established. Since Ron Goerler Sr. acquired the old barn including a winery and a small tasting room, a lot has changed. Together with his son, Ron Jr. they made some aesthetically and agriculturally beneficial changes to the vineyard. Currently, most of the rooms have been enlarged.

First, the tasting room has been increased to almost twice its size to accommodate more people who would like to get a taste of their world-renowned wines. A large backyard is even available for special occasions like musical events or formal gatherings. In fact, private parties including weddings, are sometimes held in this scenic backyard.

The Jamesport Vineyards winery/tasting room is open from everyday from 10 in the morning to 6 in the afternoon. The company is located in the North Fort, in the Long Island Wine Country. If you need their contact information, you could always check their website. Their website also contains latest news and updates about their winery.

If you’re a wine enthusiast who might also enjoy taking walks along large stretches of vineyards, then, by all means, take a tour around the Jamesport Vineyards. Not only will you be able to taste their wines, you could also engage their winemakers in small talk, and thus, would be able to better appreciate the wine that your tasting.

Jamesport Vineyards continue to garner yearly awards and medals as acknowledgments for their exemplary efforts in producing wines.

The origin of can be traced back several thousand years, wine has withstood the test of time as people from century after century and millennium after millennium have enjoyed what wine is all about. But underneath the great taste is the lesser known benefits that this drink has to offer. It is only recently that science has been able to uncover the health benefits from this amazing beverage.

But before you gulp down excessive amounts of wine, thinking about it as some sort of medicine, it is also important to remember that drinking excessive amounts of wine is not good for you, in fact, overindulgence negates wines . Plus of course, for many alcohol is an addictive drink.

Anyway, assuming your NOT an alcoholic, then consuming wine in moderation should be no problem. There was a study in France that proved that wine can reduce mortality among men. This study selected different people with commonalities like their age, their nationality, and other similar characteristics. The researchers then grouped these selected people into three different categories that is the , the extreme drinkers, and those that do not drink at all.

Surprisingly, the result showed that those who drink moderately lived significantly longer lives then the other two categories, those who drink excessively and those who don't drink. There is a theory that wine does have protective elements that prevent drinkers from getting diseases that are common to man like heart disease.

Right now, with all the information that bombards us daily, it is becoming common knowledge that wine can reduce the risk of and other ailments associated with it. But until recently, it has actually never been scientifically proven.

There was a particular study from , that pointed the exact process wherein the wine gives a benefit to the muscle cells in the heart by lowering the smooth muscle which is actually responsible for the growth of atherosclerosis that can eventually lead to problems with the . This is especially true when you drink your wine just after eating.

Women are not left out from the benefits wine has to offer either as there was a recent study conducted at the that showed that women who drink wine moderately have a reduced risk . While this research also noted that other drinks that are good for health like fruit juices, different kinds of tea, etc. also reduced the risk of having kidney stones, it was the wine that proved to be the most beneficial for women in this regard, similar results were found in men.

There are many more benefits we have yet to uncover in drinking wine but these studies had shown that there is no need to fear in wine drinking if taken moderately.
